Minimum Requirements

High School diploma and 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity or Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience as a supervisor in a large supply services or property control company. Must have experience of inventory accounting and computerized inventory control systems. Experience in implementing and maintaining systems a plus. Must have valid SC driver’s license. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thorough knowledge of inventory and supply practices including computerized inventory control systems and accounting principles and practices pertaining to inventory control and material handling. Experience with Banner operating systems and/or Jaggaer software desired. Ability to research, develop, and present training programs is necessary. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and computer data entry. Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Additional Comments Regarding Position

Requires frequent contact with College personnel and outside agencies, including faculty, staff, vendors, trucking firms, and state offices. Must have the physical ability to work in a warehouse environment. May require occasional overnight travel.

Job Duties


  1. Provides leadership in the implementation and development of complex computerized systems for inventory control and supply systems. Develops and analyzes data to inform the College’s decisions on operational strategies. Compiles, develops and presents management statistics on operations and makes informed recommendations. Develops and establishes revenue-generating programs.

  1. Coordinates with Director of Environmental, Health and Safety to develop and institute driver training certification for all College personnel driving College vehicles. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations, security requirements, and emergency procedures.

  1. Manages the College’s fleet consisting of more than 50 gas and electric vehicles, boats, etc. Assesses, researches and implements new policies for vehicle use and maintenance. Ensures compliance with reporting requirements and proper documentation of driver/operator qualifications, mandatory training, accident reporting and remedial actions.

  1. Oversees large central receiving/stores/inventory programs. Hires, trains, evaluates and manages supply and inventory staff. Acts as liaison to various shipping companies, auditors, and campus constituents. Ensures safety procedures are in place and followed in the warehouse and at delivery locations. Assesses and enhances efficiency of daily operations implementing changes as appropriate. Develops budget, produces reports, consults on insurance requirements.

  1. Solicits input from customers and advises administration. Participates on teams, committees and projects that benefit the department and the campus. Provides expert advice in specialty areas. Attends State and local meeting of significance to inventory management, inventory control, OSHA regulations, changes in laws or procedures, etc.
