The Supply Chain Division Director of OR (DDOR) is responsible for leading, implementing, measuring, and directing supply chain activities within the Surgical Services department, in conjunction with other Supply Chain stakeholders. In some Divisions, this position may also provide operational direction and oversight for Sterile Processing, Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology and functions in facilities where Supply Chain does not have OR operations. The DDOR is primarily responsible for data integrity, accuracy and efficiency of the preference card process, supporting the Supply Chain clinical resources to lead margin improvement activities, and patient billing review and process integrity. In addition, this position collaborates closely with the facility Supply Chain Director, the Supply Chain ORMM, and the Supply Chain COO on operational and inventory management processes and initiatives. The DDOR primarily focuses on the facilities within a multi-hospital division where supply chain is engaged in the OR. However, the position also serves as a resource to assist the remaining facilities with best demonstrated practices and process improvements.

Supervises – Supply Chain OR Internal Control Coordinator (ORICC) and dotted line supervision of Supply Chain OR Material Manager (ORMM, which reports directly to the facility-based Supply Chain Director)

-Co-lead and manage Supply Chain activities for facilities where the Operating Room Program has been implemented, with primary emphasis on supply expense management related functions with the ORICC and support for operational functions with the SCD and the ORMM -Works with clinical supply chain and hospital surgical services leaders to identify and implement surgical services initiatives for margin improvement and patient safety, including product utilization and standardization -Ensures data integrity through effective physician preference card processes, billing review procedures, and review of charge capture -Maintain relationships with key stakeholders to reduce costs in Surgical Services -Execute the infrastructure project plan for the facility, including the implementation of the standardization programs for all OR supply chain functions, SMART cleanup, and Meditech Data Cleanup. -Coordinate the necessary education and training of the ORMM and OR Internal Control Coordinator as necessary for the successful implementation of supply chain initiatives and projects -Coordinate, supervise and evaluate ORICC, helping to elevate the position strategically -Create a supportive environment for supply chain staff and the facility Surgical Services Staff -Raise and resolve facility based supply chain issues and improvement opportunities with the appropriate facility, division, corporate, and supply chain stakeholders -Design and support an environment of continuous improvement for OR supply chain functions -Design processes and procedures to capture and communicate critical knowledge and success factors to appropriate stakeholders, and to share best demonstrated practices with facilities that do not have the Supply Chain Operating Room Program -Collaborate regularly with the facility Director of Surgical Services, Division Clinical Resource Director, the facility CRD and SCD, corporate supply chain, and other stakeholders on OR initiatives, including but not limited to the following: *Review savings initiatives *Identify new opportunities *Review product standardization *Preference card accuracy and process effectiveness *Sustainable OR margin improvement -Initiate regular attendance at all key facility and division Surgical Services or Service Line meetings -Engage OR Analysts with Meditech Data Cleanup using MicroStrategy KPI’s and HCA Charge Site reports -Serve as a resource to all facilities Surgical Services team members, visiting each facility as often as possible -Contributes to monthly supply expense analysis
Position Profile Healthcare Background/Experience OR Supply Chain Background/Experience -Clinical and/or healthcare supply chain experience with progressive, demonstrated leadership skills (5 years minimum) -Clinical understanding preferred (if no direct healthcare supply chain experience) -Supply Chain understanding preferred (if no direct supply chain background/experience) -Demonstrated passion for building a clinically integrated supply chain -Demonstrated experience with C-Suite, clinical, and/or medical staff initiatives -Specific Operating Room/Surgical Services experience strongly preferred Educational Requirements -Bachelor’s degree required, BA or BS – Business or Nursing preferred -Master’s degree preferred Proven Communication Skills -Ability to communicate effectively to all levels -Experience in effectively driving toward a shared vision -Ability to develop effective and appropriate formal communications, including plans and presentations Other Key Skill Sets -Demonstrated experience and passion for driving innovation throughout the organization -Demonstrated experience developing consensus and driving for results -Strong people management and change management skills -Solid financial and business acumen, with clinical understanding -Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning -Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and negotiate solutions -Demonstrated understanding of billing regulations and principles

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS – Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, walking, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
