Job Description

Rotating shifts required Including but not limited to: Monday –Sunday (8AM –4:30 PM) (4PM-12AM) (6PM-2:30AM).

Must be able to work flexible schedule. Must be able pass a Federal NCIC Background Check.

Patrols assigned area such as public parking lot or section of city, enforcing ordinances regulating the orderly parking of motor vehicles primarily by foot performing the following duties. Maintains a regular patrol of a parking district as assigned, issuing tickets for violations of the City's parking codes. Operates ticket-writing computer to record violations and assess penalties. Gives ticket book/computer at end of shift to supervisor to facilitate preparation of violation records. Reports missing traffic signals or signs, or broken parking meters. Chalks tires of vehicles parked in unmetered spaces, records time, and returns at specified intervals to ticket vehicles remaining in spaces illegally. Tag abandoned vehicles for removal from public roadways. May direct traffic at public gatherings, parades or similar events. Performs other duties as assigned. Required: This job requires the ability to use and carry a hand held ticketing system. Valid South Carolina Driver’s License is required. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must pass a criminal back ground check and drug screening.
